Summer in Maine is about to get even better. This weekend’s FREE Summer in the Park concert will feature Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and guitarist Jeff Tweedy, best known as the leader of the Chicago rock band Wilco.
Jeff Tweedy will be backed by a newly formed band on his North American tour, including his 18-year-old son Spencer Tweedy on drums, Jim Elkington on additional guitars, Darin Gray on bass and Liam Cunningham on keyboards. Fans can read more about Jeff and Spencer’s musical collaboration, called Tweedy, in this article from Rolling Stone.
The band’s performance will include new music from Tweedy’s upcoming solo album, Sukierae (pronounced sue-key-ray), releasing September 23. Click here to check out the first single from the album, “I’ll Sing It.” The second half of the concert will feature a solo acoustic set by Jeff Tweedy, with songs from Wilco and Uncle Tupelo, the alt-country band he co-founded.
Come out and give a big Maine welcome to Jeff Tweedy and his band this weekend at L.L.Bean’s flagship campus! For more on Jeff Tweedy, visit wilcoworld.net, facebook.com/wilcohq or follow @JeffTweedy on Twitter.
