Kikkan Randall has a lot of titles on her resumé: Fastest Woman in Alaska on Skis (at 74.14 mph); USSA Cross-Country Skier of the Year (2008, 2009, 2010); Most Successful US Cross-Country Skier in History; and First World Cup Victory for an American Woman in Cross Country. We’re happy to announce that she has one more title to add: L.L.Bean Testing and Design Partner.
We are thrilled to announce that Alaskan cross-country skier Kikkan Randall is our newest testing and design partner. Kikkan will work with our product development teams, providing valuable feedback and advice that will help us build world-class products. As the 2013 World Champion, 10-time World Cup victor and whopping 17-time US National Champion, she’ll be able to give us a perspective that nobody else can.
A self-described “outdoor junkie” and “get-activist,” Kikkan is a proponent for a healthy lifestyle. “Alaska is similar to Maine,” says Randall, “the outdoor opportunities that are available to us are endless.”
When she’s not competing, she enjoys biking, running, hiking, backcountry skiing and other outdoor activities (she even rides a unicycle).
Our Chief Marketing Officer Steve Fuller adds: “Kikkan and L.L.Bean share many of the same values – a love and reverence of the outdoors as well as a passion to inspire others to enjoy the outdoors.”
Part of our partnership will include support of Fast and Female, a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to empowering girls aged 9-19 through participation in sports and outdoor activities. Kikkan serves as president of Fast and Female USA.
Kikkan, welcome to L.L.Bean!
