There’s a certain spirit of adventure that brings families together. It can’t be found in front of a screen; it isn’t downloadable. But you can live it at L.L.Bean’s Outdoor Discovery Schools.
Here’s how the adventure began for one of our customers.
A mother and her sons
“I learned to sail on the Harraseeket River near the South Freeport dock many years ago,” writes Priscilla C. from Broomfield, CO. “Now, we live in the Rockies but come back every year to visit my parents. We signed up for the beginning kayaking class through L.L.Bean. I was excited to see that our class would take place in the same place that I had learned to sail so many years before. I had my doubts about whether my sons would enjoy it since they had never been in any type of boat before. But I wanted them to experience the adventure and excitement of trying something new.”
With warmhearted humor and tales of their own, L.L.Bean guides taught her family how to paddle, guided them through the river’s gentle ebb and flow and showed them the wildlife as only experts can.
“My kids came out of the class asking if we could buy a kayak,” she said. “Now I know what we’ll do each time we come to visit. Perhaps, we’ll even buy a kayak to paddle around the reservoirs and lakes at home.”
At L.L.Bean’s Outdoor Discovery Schools we live what we love every day—and so can you. Adventure is just around the bend.
