Ready for an Art Car Campout?

Art Car Campout, Freeport, ME 10/13/12

What are the makings of a classic campout? For us, it’s hot dogs, chocolate, marshmallows, good friends – and your L.L.Bean Boots. Luckily, all of the above will be present at the L.L.Bean flagship store in Freeport, Maine, on October 13 for a day with the Bootmobile and a few of its mobile companions.

You’re cordially invited to our first-ever Art Car Campout!

From 10 a.m-6 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, a group of art cars will converge at Discovery Park at L.L.Bean’s Freeport, Maine, campus for a day of outdoor fun and games. Also, they’ll be helping us celebrate the birthday of our company’s founder, Leon Leonwood Bean. We hope you will be there, too.

The Lindt Gold Bunny car will be here, representing the globally renowned chocolate brand. You can follow them on Twitter, or on Facebook to learn more about the chocolatier.

The Peepster Car will be present, providing us with a taste of springtime, though as their tagline says – they’re always in season. Follow them on Facebook or on Twitter.

The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile won’t miss this roast, representing the classic hot dog we know and love. You can follow their adventures on the Hotdogger Blog, or on Facebook and Twitter.

And, of course, our very own Bootmobile will be there to join in the festivities.

There will be free, family-friendly activities taking place throughout the day, hosted by our staff and Outdoor Discovery Schools representatives. And from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., there will be a weenie roast, s’mores and more. In addition, each car will be offering special giveaways, so be sure to join us for this sweet event.
