  2. BMD | April 6, 2012 | 6:45 am

There is more to Massachusetts than just Boston. There is a western end to the state and we shop at Bean also.

  3. Beverly | April 6, 2012 | 6:49 am

Wish you would come with the boot to our side of the state in the Berkshires. We love L.L. Bean!!

  4. Mary | April 6, 2012 | 6:54 am

We just love LL Bean. We make our annual trip in the Fall to the Maine Freeport Store. Maybe the next time the Bootmobile comes to MA it will come down to the Wareham Store. I just love how you stand by your products.

  5. Annette | April 6, 2012 | 6:56 am

I would love to see more activities for pre-teen and teen aged kids.
If we keep them busy and show them just how much fun the outdoors can be, I honestly believe it would keep them from taking the wrong paths in their early years, not to mention get them out and exercising! Gone are the days when kids knocked on doors to ask for a friend to come outside and play! We need to get them away from computers and those little game things they always have in their hands.

  6. Hugh | April 6, 2012 | 7:01 am

  10. Jim | April 6, 2012 | 7:07 am

When does the Bootmobile make it to Nashua NH?

  11. Burt | April 6, 2012 | 7:09 am

I guess I missed the date for Worcester (that’s in Massachusetts) Number 2 in largest cities in New England. I guess I will need to use the sales catalogs I get from Duluth Trading Co.

  12. Rosemarie A. | April 6, 2012 | 7:12 am

Happy 100 years! I visited your tiny store in 1956. That’s when your items were all made in USA as far as I knew, When I just looked at your new made in USA section, I found that weren’t any clothes to speak of. I probably will not be spending my money on imports from you. I am so sorry.

  13. Judy | April 6, 2012 | 7:13 am

This all sounds like a terrific fun event but why nothing in western MA??

  14. jan | April 6, 2012 | 7:15 am

Sure wish you would come to the CAPE!!

  15. Nancy | April 6, 2012 | 7:23 am

What about Western MA? Lenox area would love to see the boot!!!

  16. Luisa | April 6, 2012 | 7:26 am

How about stopping at the Wareham store to give southern Massachusetts residents a chance to join the celebration with the “bootmobile”? We like LLBean too!

  17. Sue | April 6, 2012 | 7:27 am

The Patriots’ Day parade?????? That is ridiculous. That really is a day to celebrate the country, not commerce. I am a long-time Lexington resident, and I am appalled.

    • Sara | L.L.Bean | April 19, 2012 | 11:06 am

Thanks for sharing your comments. We apologize if the Bootmobile’s appearance at Lexington’s Patriot’s Day parade offended you. L.L.Bean was invited by the parade committee due to the recent announcement by the media that Lexington is the “Beanest town in America” – More L.L.Bean orders come from Lexington than any other US town.

  18. Jon | April 6, 2012 | 7:27 am

Hey Guys, Its great you’re coming to the greater Boston area, but what about the rest of us? You’re email said you’re touring Massachusetts and there is a lot of Mass outside I-495!

  19. Sue | April 6, 2012 | 7:28 am

L.L. Bean’s has the best customer service of any store. All the stores are great but the Freeport, ME store is the most fun and weorth the trip.

  20. Myrna | April 6, 2012 | 7:37 am

    Myrna l April 6, 2012 l 8:30am

I have shopped at LL Bean for several years. The quality of clothes feel and last so much longer then any others. You may pay a bit more but you get way more for your dollar! The boots my husband and I bought will last as long as we do. I do appreciate the fact you do carry a lot of Maine products. Happy 100th Birthday!

  21. Stephen | April 6, 2012 | 7:41 am

When is it coming to Cape Cod?

  22. Warren | April 6, 2012 | 7:45 am

…..and the Ocean State schedule is?

  23. ROBERT VERE | April 6, 2012 | 7:48 am

Love BEAN products. Been buying their products since I was 12yrs old. Am now 70 ! Best warantee in the world.

  24. Randie | April 6, 2012 | 7:52 am

Hello-o! Massachusetts is not just the Boston area! In fact, I would be willing to bet that the farm country of Western Massachusetts buys/wears more LL Bean boots than the urban Eastern Massachusetts end of the state!

  25. Sadie Sophie | April 6, 2012 | 7:54 am

I am very disappointed that the Bootmobile will not be visiting Worcester, MA, which is the second largest city in Massachusetts.

  26. Mary | April 6, 2012 | 7:56 am

    What about Mansfield?

  27. glenn cole | April 6, 2012 | 7:58 am

What % of your clothing is made in china and why dont you support the usa labels?

    • Sara | L.L.Bean | April 19, 2012 | 11:05 am

At L.L.Bean we source products from across the globe including the US. You’ll find USA made L.L.Bean products here:

  28. Terry | April 6, 2012 | 7:59 am

What, No visit to Western Massachusetts? I bet us rural folks spend more per capita on Bean products than our Metro Boston counterparts. Would be nice – someday!

  29. Dale Rice | April 6, 2012 | 8:01 am

How about a trip to Cape Cod—we’re Beaners too??? Better than that how about opening a store down here???
    Dale Rice

  30. Anne | April 6, 2012 | 8:03 am

How about coming to the North Shore, say, Newburyport!

  31. Lori Beverage | April 6, 2012 | 8:07 am

The William Diamond Fife and Drum Corps kids will be not far behind you in the Patriot’s Day Parade in Lexington! Very cool!

  32. Jennifer | April 6, 2012 | 8:10 am

I can’t wait to bring my girls to the bootmobile when it comes to Burlington! We all love L.L. Bean products. We have a million boat bags, but yet I am always buying them! They are great to use as gifts and then fill them with some beach or outdoor products. I love the satisfaction policy. It’s such a great place to shop!

  33. charlene | April 6, 2012 | 8:13 am

I echo Stephen’s comments! Thanks for the link to A nice beginning and shows you are listening. It would be great if things were assembled in America from American materials only!

  34. Cathy | April 6, 2012 | 8:16 am

What about Western Mass? The state DOES got West of Worcester..

  35. Audrey | April 6, 2012 | 8:17 am

I agree with Stephen, LLBean, would be the No.1 catalog & retail sales company, IF — they would make the commitment to the people who have made your company what it is today!
The American people, Start making ALL your products in USA. I buy great jeans made in USA for less than I can get them from YOUR company. Please explain!

    • Sara | L.L.Bean | April 19, 2012 | 11:05 am

Thanks for sharing your comments. At L.L.Bean we source products from across the globe including the US. We also are one of the last multi-channel merchants to still own and operate a manufacturing facility in the US. Our Brunswick, Maine factory employs more than 400 talented men and women that craft our iconic products such as the Maine Hunting Shoe, Bean Boots, Boat and Totes, dog beds and more. L.L.Bean employs more than 5,000 US based employees and an additional 4,000 – 5,000 seasonal employees each year. We continue to add more USA made items to our product offerings

  36. Renee | April 6, 2012 | 8:18 am

Would love to see you come to a central Cape location; like the Marstons Mills Public Library where I am Director. Thanks,

  37. Linda Matson | April 6, 2012 | 8:21 am

    Why not Concord, NH????

  38. Rev. Pat Kriss | April 6, 2012 | 8:32 am

I’m a loyal customer, and live in Western Mass. — there’s more state past Springfield, you know! We’re hoping that the Bootmobile will come as well to Colonie NY since that is the store nearest to us.

  39. susan k | April 6, 2012 | 8:33 am

Yay!…I’ll be there with bells…er, bean boots on!

  40. cruiserjoan | April 6, 2012 | 8:33 am

I will only buy AMERICAN products from LLBean from now on. The imported products just don’t hold up to my standards.

any trips to Western Mass/ Berkshires? Mt. Greylock!!! don’t forget the other half!

  43. Connay from Cape Cod | April 6, 2012 | 9:04 am

Any chance the bootmobile will venture down to the ‘Cape”?!?! LL Bean stands by itself in regards to a lifetime guarentee!!! My husband and I still have our oringinal boots from 1975…
they’ve got many more miles in them. :) Happy 100th anniversary LLBean!!!

  44. Jill | April 6, 2012 | 9:09 am

When are you coming to New Hampshire? We love you too!

  45. The R Family | April 6, 2012 | 9:12 am

L.L. Bean products are great! We enjoy your store and products so much, we are Bean card-carrying members, which gives my siblings in CA and HI a big laugh, but I don’t know why, since your products are all high quality. They consider it “so New England”, which I take as a compliment. We have your Bean crocs from about 5 years ago, that my husband and I treasure because you no longer carry them. My son has outgrown his, but a neighbor has enjoyed them and is going on his 2nd year in the hand-me-downs. In addition, we are HUGE fans of the boat bags and echo Jennifer’s sentiments on these. My husband and son just returned from a trip to CO and used one of the zipped boat bags to carry ski and snowboard boots. The bag held up to the airline torture treatment, though a bit dirty, so our one wish is for the canvass to come in some darker colors. We’ll see you in Boston or at Legacy place with our boots or Bean crocs on our feet. BTW, we do enjoy making the occasional trek, maybe every 2 years, to your Freeport store, and purposely shop at midnight, because we can, so fun! Gratefully yours, the R family.

  46. Charlotte | April 6, 2012 | 9:13 am

Hey L.L. Bean, what about Western Massachusetts? What are we, chopped liver? Plenty of outdoors out here!

  47. Bonnie G. | April 6, 2012 | 9:18 am

You can’t beat L.L. Bean for their customer service and product returns. No questions asked.
The employees are very helpful and willing to help you and always are smiling.
At one point in my life my whole family wore nothing but L.L.Bean gear and clothes and especially shoes. We were called the” L.L.Bean Advertisement Family.” We are also pleased with all of their other items. Stoves Lights Sleeping Bags, etc. I just can stop raving about L.L.Bean products. They’re Greaaaat.

  48. Bean lover | April 6, 2012 | 9:40 am

Would love to see the Bootmobile in the Western part of the state. The Springfield area has many loyal L. L. Bean fans such as our family.

  49. J.D. | April 6, 2012 | 9:42 am

You should come to western MA, particularly the new Wegman’s Northboro shopping center.

    Jackie Reichard

  50. Wanda | April 6, 2012 | 9:57 am

I whish the Mansfield store would expand into the now closed Borders. Make it a mega store – that actually has enough stuff to make it worth the trip.

  51. Joel Johnson | April 6, 2012 | 9:57 am

Bring it to Americade, Lake George, NY June 4-9.

  52. claire fournier | April 6, 2012 | 9:59 am

while your touring have you ever heard of the Berkshire’s?

  53. Marilyn | April 6, 2012 | 10:03 am

I looked at your made in USA site, but found that you do not have clothing other than socks, shoes and padding pants & jackets, why can’t there be more clothing? I would like to see slacks, jeans, shirts, sweaters etc on that list. Customer from Maine.

    • Sara | L.L.Bean | April 19, 2012 | 11:04 am

Thanks for sharing your comments. We continue to add USA made products to the line – and plan to add additional apparel and accessories

  54. Bette Lee Miller | April 6, 2012 | 10:05 am

I guess LL Bean doesn’t know that Western Massachusetts exists! It would be nice if you put a store in Springfield and visited this area!! All your stores in MA are in the eastern part of the state. We love LL Bean products and would very much like to see a store here.

  55. Nina | April 6, 2012 | 11:04 am

LLBean has the very best customer service, the highest quality (which means their return guarantee is not bankrupting them!) and a really remarkable adherence (in this day and age) to their legacy values. And the bootmobile is SO FUNNY!!!

  56. Peter | April 6, 2012 | 11:13 am

What? No visit to the Cape?

  57. Rich | April 6, 2012 | 11:30 am

When will you be coming to Western MA?

  58. Karen | April 6, 2012 | 12:09 pm

The Bootmobile sounds great! Too bad LLBean doesn’t realize there’s more to Massachusetts than the Boston area. Western MA would love to be included. I’m sure there are many people in this area that are regular customers of LLBean also.

  59. D.S. | April 6, 2012 | 12:25 pm

Darn, can’t make it out. We love our L.L. Bean boots and raingear – they always keep us dry when we’re out letterboxing (Tell Mud we said hi!).

  60. Carole C. Myron | April 6, 2012 | 12:27 pm

My comment goes right along with the others! I’ve been a card carrying Beanie for many years now, and I am 77 and shopping still! Customer service is really their name. I love the responsiveness of this company on many levels. I have trouble “getting around” but I do plan to be in Dedham to see the bootmobile!
    Carole M.

  61. Lisa | April 6, 2012 | 12:35 pm

I’ve been buying things at LLBean for 25yrs! Is there any chance you could swing by the Nashua, NH outlet store on your way home? My 4yo twins would love to see the boot! Thank you!

  62. Ann | April 6, 2012 | 12:58 pm

Started out at the L.L.Bean store in Freeport (early 70’s) when that town was just an original small Maine. My children were just toddlers and loved the small general store with the luncheon bar across the street! We started camping and went to your store every summer. The best time was the weekend the town had an old-fashion home-days. It was 1980 and my, now four, children enjoyed it so much as did we, sadly the town started to change after that. All the little 40’s and 50’s Mom and Pop stores were being taken over by “outlet” stores. This sure made L.L.Bean grow! Now the destination place has certainly become a yuppies paradise. I miss the old, but still come up every year to go to L.L.Bean…. no can beat the quality of your merchandise. We now have an outlet near us and go often. The zipper broke on my husbands winter coat this year…He bought it in Freeport in ’03 or ’04 and we took it to the outlet and they had the exact same one there in his size that very day!!! (lucky odds) they replaced his coat with that one for only a $20 fee….that’s a guarantee you’ll get no where else!

  63. Debby Person | April 6, 2012 | 1:12 pm

Great customer service, quality products but would like to see more made in the USA!

    • Sara | L.L.Bean | April 10, 2012 | 9:10 am

Hi Debby, Thanks for sharing your comments. You can find additional made in the USA L.L.Bean products here:

  64. vmard | April 6, 2012 | 1:13 pm

It’s great you are visiting Massachusetts…but Eastern MASS only? In Western MA we probably wear more of your boots! Come check us out!

  65. Al DiCarlo | April 6, 2012 | 1:22 pm

I am a loyal LL Bean fan and enjoy many of their products. If you look at a map you will find that
Massachusetts extends WEST for over 100 miles. It seems LL Bean has joined the Ma politicians in realizing that the Boston area is all that counts……………

  66. Mary C. | April 6, 2012 | 1:55 pm

I am a walking , talking LL Bean advertisement. I wear something every day that I bought at LL Bean ! Love your products!

  67. Jhamy | April 6, 2012 | 2:14 pm

You can’t beat the deals at LLBean. Just got my hubby 2 new pair of jeans, on sale, they shipped free and I got a $10 gift card free also. Such a deal.

  68. Marilyn | April 6, 2012 | 2:16 pm

We in Lexington are looking forward to seeing you at our wonderful parade.

  69. jab | April 6, 2012 | 2:30 pm

I love it, too, but nothing ever comes to the Pioneer Valley, Amherst/Northampton regions. We have lots and lots of hikers, outdoor people. The closest is about 1.5 hours away?

  70. Eric | April 6, 2012 | 3:34 pm

We’d love to see you at the Wareham outlet store! Don’t turn that boot north without stopping by.

  71. joeknows | April 6, 2012 | 4:11 pm

Why don;t the bootmobile come out to Western Mass. where we wear boots. People in Boston area wear slippers or sandles an complain if the sun don:t shine. LLbean is a great store and we buy all our clothes from then. We find that our clothes wear like iron and no matter how old they are they still look like new.

  72. Red-Backed Sandpiper | April 6, 2012 | 7:44 pm

I think the Bootmobile needs to travel the Mohawk Trail to the Berkshires!

  73. Barbara | April 6, 2012 | 7:45 pm

I love the made in USA list feature. More American products means more purchases from me!!

  74. Robin | April 6, 2012 | 8:08 pm

What about Western Mass? We all enjoy LLBean , too!!

All your schedule is in the Boston area,.

  75. grace | April 6, 2012 | 9:26 pm

I do like their products, but I am also disappointed that some of their items are not made in America. To me, LL Bean used to mean American made = quality. I bought a parka for the winter, and I am pleased that it’s kept me warm, but one of the seams is coming apart in the collar – odd place since it doesn’t get pulled. Oh, well.

    • Sara | L.L.Bean | April 19, 2012 | 11:04 am

  78. LL Bean Fan | April 7, 2012 | 9:50 am

Another vote for the Bootmobile to come to the Southcoast of Mass in Wareham! :) We love LL Bean!!!

  79. Barb | April 7, 2012 | 4:03 pm

What about coming to Western MA sometime??

  80. Alice | April 7, 2012 | 4:16 pm

I love LL Bean BUT I live in Western Mass – Berkshires – where we really need you! Where are you? Why don’t you come here?

  81. Emily | April 7, 2012 | 5:44 pm

I wish there was an L.L.Bean in Western Massachusetts. I would love to see the Bootmobile!

  82. ProfSharon | April 7, 2012 | 7:43 pm

While I appreciate all everyone has to say; and I, too, have enjoyed some quality products from LL Bean, I need to remind everyone that there’s more to Massachusetts than Boston. I’ll get excited about these types of events when folks remember that Western Mass, where we wear these products, also exists! (And, by the way, I don’t mean the middle of Mass; I mean the Pioneer Valley – I91 corridor…)

  83. cape32 | April 8, 2012 | 8:56 am

Did you forget all of us on Cape Cod?

  84. cape cod bob | April 8, 2012 | 12:57 pm

When you bring the bootmobile to the Mansfield store would you please bring some womans waders with you.I drove over 80 miles[one way] to outfit my g/f with waders, boots, and rain gear. There were NONE in stock! I was there the last week of March. If it was summer I’d understand due to inventory etc.I own and like the mens and you can’t beat the warranty.I had thoughts of getting some new ones as a backup while I was there but was pretty upset. So we headed up the road 20 mins to the Mid-West based store next to the football stadium and bought them there.Sorry you lost a sale in the $500 range.

    • Sara | L.L.Bean | April 19, 2012 | 11:03 am

Thank you for sharing your comments with us. I understand your frustration and I apologize that the store did not have the products you were looking for. Due to size and square footage, our regional retail stores offer a limited product assortment of fishing items. In addition to our Hunting and Fishing store in Freeport, we’re available 24/7 on and always offer free shipping. You may also choose to have your items shipped directly to one of our stores. We hope you’ll allow us to be of service to you in the future.

  85. Dave C | April 8, 2012 | 1:10 pm

The Boston area is not the only part of Massachusetts. Why are you not going to parts of the rest of the state like central Mass or western Mass? Worcester, Springfield and Pittsfield are in Massachusetts. I will not do business with companies that think Massachusetts is only the Boston area.

  86. Annie Bell | April 8, 2012 | 3:50 pm

Are you aware there is alot more to Massachusetts than the Boston area? Did you ever hear of the Bershires?

  87. medicine50 | April 9, 2012 | 10:30 am

Great idea but oh so typical of things going on in the state of MA. What about the forgotten part of the state???. We in the Berkshires, the far western part of the great state of MA, are forgotten once again. We are a three hour drive to Boston and surrounding areas. Again nice idea, but we are not able to partake in the festivities

  88. John Gannon | April 9, 2012 | 2:45 pm

wish the BootMobile was comming to the western part of the state. I have shopped at L.L. Bean for many years. Used to get up at 2:00AM and drive to Freeport with my fishing buddies.
We would spend most of the morning there. We always found what we were looking for and
had very knowledgeable sales personell wait on us in all departments. We don’t make the long drive anymore. I am very fortunate to have the L.L. Bean store in Windsor Ct. Close by.My daughter and I make a monthly visit there and “resuply” my fishing needs.Top notch sales personnel and a good selection is always available. Thanks.

I love all the products of LL Bean.
My son just replaced his winter jacket that I got for him in 7th grade. He has used it for so many years and it was still good. He finally gave it away this year. He is 24 years old! LOL, for real, the quality is so good, they last forever.

First, LL Bean products are great.

But please remember that there is a lot more to Massachusetts west of I 495.

    From the Berkshires,

Is there more than 1 Bootmobile? I swear I saw it a few days after Easter down here in Central Florida. Was shocked to see this, because I didn’t know what it was, so looked it up on Google – and there it was!

Hi Debbie, There’s only one Bootmobile. We were down in Florida getting some upgrades before heading up to Boston. Glad you looked us up!

Happy 100th Anniversary LL Bean! The Town of Abington, MASS (a town rich in shoe manufacturing history!) is celebrating its 300th Anniversary. Any chance the Bootmobile could join the celebration for a June 10, 2012 parade or a June 23, 2012 Family Field Day? Thank you for considering . . .

I love your products, they last forever. I think LL Bean is the ONLY brand my dad wears!! Is the Bootmobile coming to the Cleveland, Oh. area? (we live in Medina 30 min. away)

  99. Katherine Waller | May 16, 2012 | 2:05 pm

Please bring the BootMobile to Richmond, VA – Any time…

  100. Mary Jane | June 2, 2012 | 2:09 pm

I think the Washington, DC area REALLY needs a visit from the Bootmobile. It might help to bring a lot of people’s minds back to what matters the most in this day & time — a dose of reality from exposure to nature & all the wonderful things therein.

Is it a right, or left????

    • Sara | L.L.Bean | July 3, 2012 | 9:37 am

Hi Ron, for safety reasons (like weight distribution and aerodynamics), the Bootmobile is neither a right or a left boot, it’s both! Check out our Making of the Bootmobile video for more info!
