From chilly New England to upstate New York, we asked college students one question – do you need a Wintervention? At all ten schools selected for our Wintervention tour, the answer was a resounding “YES!”
This fall, the Bootmobile brought our Wintervention contest to ten colleges across the Northeast. Students could enter to win a “Wintervention;” defined as a cool-weather intervention in the form of gear and outerwear packages from L.L.Bean. To enter, students either tweeted why they needed a Wintervention or submitted an entry form while visiting the Bootmobile.
Many of the entries showcased the students’ creativity and kept us entertained during the tour. Here’s a summary of the tour and a few of our favorite entries via Twitter.
We kicked things off at University of New Hampshire.

Then moved on to The University of Maine.

Next up were University of Massachusetts Amherst and Colgate University.

Then, we made our way to Colgate’s New York neighbor, Syracuse University. The enthusiastic students there got very creative with their tweets.

After a successful Halloween in Syracuse, we got back to our New England roots and brought a #Wintervention to Boston College. The photos below speak for themselves.

We stayed in the Boston area and headed to Harvard for the big Harvard versus Yale football game. Here’s one of our favorite tweets.

Finally, we finished up strong at University of Connecticut, Tufts University and Saint Joseph’s College of Maine.

Needless to say, we had a blast with our Wintervention contest. And with over 6,000 entries both on Twitter and in-person, we hope everyone follows up by coming to L.L.Bean this year for a little cold-weather gear boost.
Tell us – with the temperature dropping fast, are you in a need of a Wintervention?
