L.L.Bean is getting ready to ring in the holiday season. Since our Christmas tree – a 60-foot Norway spruce – arrived at the Freeport campus last weekend, our elves have been hard at work adding lights and decorations in preparation for our tree lighting ceremony.
Join us in Freeport, Maine, on Friday, November 16 at 6:45 p.m. for our annual Christmas tree lighting, the kick-off to our Northern Lights events.

What is Northern Lights? It’s a six-week celebration of the holiday spirit in our hometown of Freeport. When you visit Freeport during this time, you’ll find live music and caroling, horse-drawn carriage rides, a local harvest market, kids’ crafts and activities, a Crooked House play village and gift-wrapping services.
See our full schedule below.

FYI- Just to let you know, the above “Join us in Freeport, Maine, on Thursday, November 16 at 6:45 p.m. for our annual Christmas tree lighting, the kick-off to our Northern Lights events” looks like it should be Friday instead of Thursday.
Can’t wait to see it!

Your post mentions tree lighting on Thursday, 11/16. 11/16 is a Friday and you usually have this on a Friday. Can we assume the event is on 11/16?
Sara | L.L.Bean | November 15, 2012 | 9:23 am
Hi Jill, Thanks for pointing that out. Our tree lighting will be held on FRIDAY, November 16th. Apologies for any confusion!

Just wanted to comment on the tree lighting, my daughter and I attended with a friend and her daughter. The girls had a great time, my friend and I loved the Fogcutters music. The light show was amazing and we look forward to coming another weekend to see more. To make the night complete the free hot chocolate was delicious. Keep up the great work….:)
