I am now 72 years old. I am a retired educator and long time customer of llbean. I did own one llbean trout knife for about thirty years. It was my favorite knife and made well. I got it caught in the knife storage box and bent the blade trying to get it out. That was a few years back and since I felt it was my mistake I forgot about it. When llbean came out with a new 100 year copy I thought I would buy one. The first time I used it and hand washed it the blade turned a black and blue color. I sent it back but when I got a new one some one wrote me a letter about the high carbon steel. It keeps a great edge ect. My old knife had a great edge and looked nice all the time. LLBean should not write to customers about steel or products that I would not buy. I am going to send this one back also. llbean has lost a long time customer over this and be careful what you buy.
