Quality Is Timeless: the 100th Anniversary Trout Knife

A knife, much like a watch, a fishing rod or a field coat, can become a cherished family heirloom, used generation after generation. Signs of wear make it even more special because they represent many great outdoor experiences.

Here at L.L.Bean, we’ve always believed in the value of keeping our customers satisfied – at any cost – through the generations. That’s why when we make a product, we make it so that it will stand the test of time. This year, in honor of our anniversary, we’re proud to reintroduce one of our very first knife offerings.

Like everything we make, our 100th Anniversary Trout Knife is meant to be versatile. A near-identical replica of our 1934 design, it’s the ideal tool for cleaning fish, as well as for everyday use at home. We think it’s a great staple for any knife collector’s arsenal.

Now, let’s talk features. Made in the US, the knife has a rosewood handle that features the L.L.Bean emblem and our 100th anniversary logo, as well as a high-carbon-steel blade. It sharpens easily and slides into a genuine leather belt sheath. Whether you’re an avid fisherman or an avid cook, this knife is a great addition to all your outdoor adventures.

Plan to add this knife to your collection? We’d love to hear from you in the comments section below. For every comment, we’ll donate $1 to the National Park Foundation as a part of our Million Moment Mission.

I am now 72 years old. I am a retired educator and long time customer of llbean. I did own one llbean trout knife for about thirty years. It was my favorite knife and made well. I got it caught in the knife storage box and bent the blade trying to get it out. That was a few years back and since I felt it was my mistake I forgot about it. When llbean came out with a new 100 year copy I thought I would buy one. The first time I used it and hand washed it the blade turned a black and blue color. I sent it back but when I got a new one some one wrote me a letter about the high carbon steel. It keeps a great edge ect. My old knife had a great edge and looked nice all the time. LLBean should not write to customers about steel or products that I would not buy. I am going to send this one back also. llbean has lost a long time customer over this and be careful what you buy.
